Refreshed Kia Carnival in Fayetteville, AR

Kia is preparing to launch the refreshed Carnival MPV in the summer of 2024. The refreshed 2025 model was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show during a Kia press conference. At the same event, Kia’s Vice President of Marketing, Russell Wager, also introduced the updated Kia K5 sedan.

“The Kia lineup offers the choice of a great sedan, SUV, or EV for just about anyone,” said Wager.

After the reveal, car enthusiasts and reviewers got a chance to check out the Carnival Refresh. Below are some of their thoughts and opinions on the new vehicle.

Auto Buyers Guide

Over at Auto Buyers Guide, Travis had the opportunity to take an early look at the 2025 Kia Carnival.

“This is a fairly squared-out front grill. We do have some curves; we have some edges. But overall, this is a very different look than what you’d find across the Chrysler Pacifica or the Honda Odyssey, and even the Toyota Sienna,” said Travis. “This is part of what Kia is trying to do to distinguish this vehicle.”

He talked about the Carnival’s dark package that comes with darker colors on the wheels, mirror caps, roof rails, and trim. He’s also mentioned the car’s roomy storage area at the back, the expected fuel economy, and the advanced tech features.

“With the addition of the hybrid model, we’re not only going to get very similar power outputs but, ideally, significantly better fuel economy,” said Travis. “With the addition of the dark trim, we see a sportier way to present your Carnival.”

Car Confections

Drew and Mason Hardesty, who run the Car Confections YouTube channel, recently had the opportunity to take a sneak peek at the 2025 Carnival refresh. They shared some of the latest features so we can better understand what to expect.

“This has a pretty tough look for a minivan, and that’s deliberate because Kia wants this to look more SUV-like,” said Drew. “When it comes to automotive brands, Kia is perhaps one of the very best about making sure all their products stay fresh, up to date, and also have similar design elements that pass through them.”

They point out that the new design has similarities with the EV9, refreshed Sorento, and now the K5.

“It was already one of the best minivans when it comes to luxury,” said Mason.

Mason talked about how comfortable the back seats are. He says that they are the same size as last year’s Carnival. But he points out that the SX Prestige trim has special VIP lounge seats that are super comfortable. These seats have wing-style headrests and dual armrests and can recline back. They also have buttons on the side to control the power adjustments. He also shows the MPV’s two big entertainment screens for watching movies and a separate sunroof for the back seats.

“The rear occupants really have a super luxurious experience with this new model, especially if you choose the VIP seating package,” said Mason.
