- Kia Optima
The 2020 Optima four-door sedan features sleek styling, a powerful drivetrain, and handles well on the road. The Optima SX features a 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder engine that delivers 245 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque that pairs with a Sportmatic six-speed automatic transmission on a front-wheel-drive platform. The Optima EX comes with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 178 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.
The EX engine pairs with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel and is also front-wheel drive. The average mpg in the city is 24 and for highway driving, 32 mpg. Standard safety features on all the Kias are electronic stability control, traction control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic collision warning, and parking distance warning-reverse. The standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission can be controlled with the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, or you can opt for the six-speed manual transmission for enhanced driver engagement.
The custom-tuned high flow active exhaust system gives the Forte GT a race car sound for added adrenaline. The front-wheel-drive system allows the car to pull forward with plenty of traction and stability. Even with all that power under the hood, the 2020 Forte GT gets an impressive 29 mpg in the city and 40 mpg for highway driving.
- Kia Stinger
The 2020 Stinger stands out as one of the sportiest Kia models to drive. Combine the high-performance engineering with a classic sports car style, and the Stinger gives other cars in this class a run for their money. The streamlined, aerodynamic design reduces air drag, and the fastback silhouette gives the Stinger the look of a race car.
There are two engines to choose from, depending on how you plan on driving the car. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine delivers 255 horsepower with 6,200 rpm and 260 pound-feet of torque, while the 3.3-liter V-6 turbocharged engine gives a whopping 365 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, with an impressive 376 pound-feet of torque. Both engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and the rear-wheel-drive gives the car excellent traction on a variety of terrains and weather conditions. All-wheel drive is available as an option. Expect to get 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg for highway driving.
