1. Lake Wedington Recreation Area
The Lake Wedington Recreation Area, built in the 1930s and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a short 13-mile drive west of Fayetteville on State Highway 16. Boat, paddle, and fish in the scenic 102-acre Lake Wedington, teeming with largemouth and spotted bass, bluegill, sunfish, and catfish.
The 7-mile North Twin Hiking and Biking Trail and the 8-mile Lakeshore Hiking Trail offer opportunities to spot wildlife and indigenous wildflowers.
